For more than 40 years, the GE Foundation, GE employees and GE retirees have supported the United Way with fund-raising efforts in communities large and small. Total giving in 2012 of more than $27 million—$18 million from employees and retirees and $9 million from GE Foundation—places GE among the top United Way supporters. But our investment isn’t just a financial one. As volunteers, GE employees and retirees support United Way agencies by building playgrounds, collecting supplies for food banks, renovating homeless shelters and serving as Big Brothers and Sisters, and more. Learn more about GE Volunteers.
GE also helps its customers to “Live United” by donating 2% of appliance sales from the online GE Appliance Outlet Store to the United Way. So with every purchase of a new home appliance—be it a refrigerator, dishwasher, range, washer or dryer—customers are getting a new appliance at a discounted price, as well as helping to advance the common good. Visit the GE Appliance Outlet Store to start shopping.
GE employees and retirees can log in to the Pledge System to make a charitable donation (during the fall campaign season), view pledge history, access Frequently Asked Questions, and find out more information about the program.
